MT can be the primary source for translations with different levels of post-editing, or a source of translation suggestions, like a translation memory or glossary. In the latter case, multiple MT providers can be set up to offer and rate alternatives to choose from.
MT can also work under the hood to serve automatic translations on the fly, e.g. for a web catalog or a site where the risk of mistranslation is low. Chatbot MT integration enhances customer support for global markets. For some use cases like getting the gist only or long-tail content, unedited “raw” MT can also be an efficient solution.
